Maria Reiche talks about her life's work: the Nazca Lines, 1981 32'30"
Blind flute playing street musician, Bolivia 1981 2'38"

Maria Reiche, the German mathematician, spent the greater part of her life in pursuit of unlocking the mysteries of the Nazca lines in Peru. In the fascinating talk on this CD she reveals many of her findings regarding one of the great archaeological mysteries of this planet.
She does not take the 'easy' route of attributing the lines and drawings to extraterrestrial intervention, but reveals compelling evidence of the genius of the past and present inhabitants of the Nazca area that would have allowed them to construct these desert monuments.
By far not all questions of the mysteries of Nazca are answered as yet. Some may never give up their secrets to modern man. But Maria Reiche, more than any other scientist, has probed the past to come up with startling findings. This is her story of that quest.
The lone flute music also presented on this CD was played on a piece of plastic pipe by a blind street musician. He and his music is a living example of the genius, skill and perseverance of his ancestors.

This is one of a series of productions dedicated to the diverse cultural pageantry of this world.
All recordings were made by myself over the course of two world journeys lasting over 13 months each.
